Don’t blindly believe what I say. Don’t believe me because others convince you of my words. Don’t believe anything you see, read, or hear from others, whether of authority, religious teachers or texts.

Don’t rely on logic alone, nor speculation. Don’t infer or be deceived by appearances. Do not give up your authority and follow blindly the will of others. This way will lead to only delusion.

Find out for yourself what is truth, what is real. Discover that there are virtuous things and there are non-virtuous things. Once you have discovered for yourself give up the bad and embrace the good.

Seraph – The Matrix Reloaded

Now, although the Oracle is not necessarily representative of the Judaic or Christian God, she is representative of religion. As such, Seraph is the protector of religion. He is powerful, but prefers peace, only using violence when necessary.

The Vatican has its own small army, Shaolin monks have Kung Fu. This is what Seraph symbolises.

“stumbled upon a solution whereby nearly 99% of all test subjects accepted the program, as long as they were given a choice, even if they were only aware of the choice at a near unconscious level.”

We know she is a part of the system and so represents an aspect of society. Oracles are consulted for guidance. They tell prophecies and offer hope. This one offers candy and cookies… maybe to sweeten the bitter realities of life? Throughout the story, she talks about belief and offers the choice “to believe her or not”.

The Oracle symbolises religion… as Karl Marx put it… “Religion is the opiate of the masses.”

She is the feminine principle a way of keeping the right brain sated whilst the masculine principle takes control. Not everyone accepts her as truth, but enough do to allow it to happen.
